Vote for Trilio Data at OpenStack Summit Barcelona

The team here at Trilio Data is getting excited for the OpenStack Summit Barcelona. But we need your help! We’ve submitted for three different speaking opportunities. The selections are made by both a panel of judges and voting from the OpenStack community.

Here’s what we’ve proposed:

A Fireside Chat with Verizon

In this fireside chat, David Safaii, CEO of Trilio Data, will discuss Verizon’s OpenStack journey with Billy Felton, director of technology at Verizon. David will ask Billy how and why Verizon is embracing OpenStack, what cultural barriers they had to overcome, what lessons they’ve learned along the way, what their vision is for OpenStack at Verizon, and how they see OpenStack evolving within the telecom industry globally.

Panel Discussion: The Maturing Cloud: Misconceptions and Obstacles

Cloud and OpenStack environments are no longer just relegated to devOps projects focused on trying out new technologies. Organizations of all types and sizes are moving OpenStack clouds into production environments – and they are learning along the way.

This panel discussion will focus on what the mature cloud looks like, requires and delivers. Each panelist will have 2 minutes to present their views on the maturing cloud, followed by 25 minutes of questions presented by the moderator. The remaining 10 minutes will consist of the panelists fielding questions from the audience.

Moderator:     Ben Sullivan, reporter, TechWeek Europe UK

Panelists:      Bruno Zerbib, VP of product management, HPE

Sanjay Mishra, founder and CTO, Talligent

Murali Balcha, founder and CTO, Trilio Data

Andrew Hendrickson, distinguished member of technical staff, Verizon Wireless

Application-Aware Data Protection…Virtualization is Not Enough

OpenStack environments need robust data protection—something more than just cobbling together scripts or relying on virtualization. This presentation will cover how OpenStack environments benefit from intelligent data protection, such as:

  • Scaling as the application grows
  • Efficient Storage
  • Point-in-time Recovery/Orchestration
  • Tech Refresh (Use Cases: Upgrades, Disaster Recovery or Data Mobility)
  • Application Consistent backup
  • Covering compliance requirement needs

Voting closes on Monday, August 8. Please take a moment and vote for the sessions you’d like to see us present.
